Udupi: New Deputy Commissioner Dr. M. T. Reju takes charge

Udupi, 24 May 2011: Dr. M. T. Reju has taken charge as the new Deputy Commissioner for Udupi District on Monday. Acting D.C. Prabhkar handed over the charge to the new D.C. Dr. M. T. Reju, who is originally from Kerala, passed his I.A.S. in 2005 batch. After that he worked as Deputy Divisional Officer for one year in Shivmoga. He was then the Deputy Divisional Officer during 2007 – 09 at Tharikere Chikmagalore and then was the Asst. Secretary at Public Administrative Development Department Bangalore.
Dr. Reju who is 35 years of age studied Medicine in Homeopathy at Trivandrum Government Homeopathy Medical College completing his Medical Degree BHMS, then worked in a Homeopathy Hospital in Koilandi for 3 years.
His father Thangaraju was the Deputy Thashildar working in the Government Department directly working with the people, who inspired him to serve the people, so he wrote I.A.S. exams says Dr. M. T. Reju. The medicine he studied cannot be left as it is, hence whenever there is need among his family, his wife, two children and to himself he prescribes the medicine, he says.
On the first day he said that he does not know much about Udupi. Now that the rainy season is going to start, he has to discuss with the officers on the rain related problems. Also attention to be given on shifting of D.C. office, Koti Chennaya theme park work, widening of roads and city municipality issues, he said.
