Udupi: Preparations for Lawrencian State-level Volleyball Tournament near completion

Udupi, 16 Nov: With the efforts of all concerned, preparations for hosting the prestigious Lawrencian State-level Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, 17 November 2018 are near complete. The ground and the colourful Volleyball court has been laid. The stage for inaugural function is ready. The banners sponsored by a number of entrepreneurs and indivduals have been displayed in the ground.
There is great anticipation and enthusiasm about the tournament. Ten teams have already registered to play in the tournament. The inauguration of this State-level tournament will be at 7.30pm on Saturday, 17 November 2018. Commodore Jerome Castelino, retired Indian Navy officer, Ms. Joyline Lobo, International Triple Jump athlete, Fr. Mahesh DSouza, Principal of Don Bosco CBSE High School and Raison Rebello, International Volleyball player will be the chief guests.
The organizers of Lawrencian State level Volleyball Tournament, Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, the Parish Priest, Fr. Lawrence Cutinha- Convener, Elias D’Souza- Coordinator and various comittee members including Vincent Fernandes, Gerald Fernandes, Joseph Martis, Denis Martis, Victor D’Souza and their team members have been working day and night to see that all the preparations for this once in a life-time event are completed in stipulated time. More than 2000 spectators are expected to witness the tournament.
Wide pre-publicity and coverage of the tournament has been given in various regional and English newspapers as well as web portals following the press conference conducted at the Press Club, Udupi on 13 November 2018 which was addressed by Fr. Lawrence Cutinha and attended by Fr. Clement Mascarenhas, Vincent Fernandes and Victor D’Souza.
