Udupi: Manasa Rehab & Center - 20th year celebrations from Nov 10 to 11

Udupi, 09 Nov 2017: Manasa Rehabilitation and Training Center, Pamboor, near here will be celebrating their second decennial celebrations fromNovember 10 to November 11. It was opened on November 14, 1997 and offers integral training to inmates. Sixty-eight inmates now live in the facility. Five-hundred-eighty-four students are trained in 19 years. Seven inmates represented India in International Special Olymkpics and bagged 4 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze so far. It’s being run by Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh® and Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh®.

 

A state-level seminar on growth of differently-abled children will be held here on November 10.

Karnataka sports and Udupi district-in-charge minister Pramod Madwaraj will inaugurate the programme. The experts on the special children’s growth will present their papers.

 

Mangaluru bishop Dr Aloysius P D’Souza, Udupi DC Priyanka Mary Francis, Udupi bishop Dr Gerald I Lobo, Dr Nibedita Patnaik of Special School in Secunderabad will be the chief guests of the occasion.

 

Udupi diocesan vicar general Fr Baptist Menezes will preside the alumni meet here on November 10 at 11.00am.

 

Udupi ZP president Dinakar Babu, ZP member Wilson Rodrigues and others will be the chief guests of the occasion.

 

Udupi bishop Dr Lobo will preside the valedictory function at 3.00pm.

 

Swami Vishwavallaba of Sode mutt, Kaup MLA Vinayakumar Sorake, Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo, MLC Ivan D’Souza, child welfare department director Siddaraju, Haji Abdul Jaleel, Rotary Club designated governor Abhinandan Shetty, Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh president Anil Lobo, Catholic Sabha Udupi Pradesh president Valerian Fernandes, spiritual directors Fr Ferdinand Gonsalves and Fr Mathew Vaz will be the chief guests of the occasion.

 

Sr Maria Jyoti and Dr P V Bhandary who are serving the inmates will be felicitated during the programme.

 

Bale Telipale, the artistes of Tulu reality show will entertain the audiences by their rib-tickling jokes and mimicry, besides the music group will present a musical show as part of the programme, stated the media release issued by president Elroy Kiran Crasto.
