Udupi: Perampalli Anganawady teacher Delphine D’Souza gets National Award

Udupi, 03 Sep 2017: Anganawady teacher Delphine D’Souza of II ward Karamballi, in Perampalli gram panchayat, here, was conferred National Award in recognition of her 28 years of service.
Anganawady teacher Sumitramma from Chitradurga district and Delphine are two women achievers from Karnataka bagged the national award.
The union minister for women and child welfare Menaka Gandhi presented the award during the award ceremony held at New Delhi, on Thursday, August 31. The award comprised Rs 25,000 cash and a citation letter.
During her 28-years of service, Delphine has strived to create awareness among the women on benefits of both union and state governments, serving nutritious food to the children supplied by child welfare department, organizing heath check up camps, vaccination, etc that transformed Karambally Anganawady centre into a role model in the country.
‘The award has enhanced my responsibility. I am thankful to officers of both state and union government in qualifying me for the coveted award. I acknowledge the support of my colleagues and locals in achieving this marvellous feat,’ said Delphine.
