Kundapura: Votive procession & Interreligious meet foster community bond at Gangolli parish

Kundapura, 17 May 2017: The Immaculate Conception Church was the centre of attraction in Gangolli as it gets ready for the blessing and inauguration. The Votive procession and Inter religious get-to-gether was organized as a part of the grand celebration.
The votive procession started from Touheed English Medium school grounds. M Abhinandan Shetty a well known entrepreneur of Kundapura flagged of the colourful procession. Fr Anil D’souza, deen of Kundapur Varado, Fr Praveen Amrith Martis, principal, St Mary’s college, Fr Albert Crasta, parish priest, Mr Gerald Crasta, vice president, Mrs Preethi Fernandes, secretary, were present on the occasion.
Devotees from different places joined this colourful procession. Decorated votive vehicles and colourful cultural and folk presentations entertained the Gangollians apart from cast and creed.
Thereafter the Interreligious get-to-gether was started. It was a great symbol of love, peace and harmony. Mr J R Lobo, MLA, Mangalore, Vedavyasa Acharya, purohith, Moulana Abdul Salam Madani, imam, Fr Louis D’sa, Director, Interreligious dialogue G. K Sheena, Manzoor H Nakuda, Fr. Anil D’souza, Fr Albert Crasta, Mr Gerald Crasta and Preethi Fernandes were present on the occasion.
Mr J R Lobo congratulated the parish priest and all the parishioners for this wonderful event. All the guests appreciated the initiatives of Immaculate Conception Church for bringing peace and harmony in the society.
Ms Radhika Pai, Gangolli was honoured for securing first place in the SSLC examinations. Fr Albert Crasta extended a warm gratitude to all for making this event memorable.
