Mangaluru: Procession of Headload-offerings held at newly-built Shaktinagar Church

Mangaluru, 13 Dec 2016: The procession headload-offerings was held form Holy Cross Church, Kulshekar, here to newly-built Mother of God Church, Shaktinagar on Monday, December 12.

 

Kulshekar parish priest Fr Victor Machado offered motion for the procession that was partaken by the people of different faith after prayers at Holy Cross Church, here on Monday.

 

Shaktinagar parish priest Fr Walter D’Souza accepted the headload-offerings at the newly-built church.

 

 

Fr Victor Machado presided the programme and congratulated the parishioners of Shaktinagar in contributing their resources towards building new church.

 

Mangaluru south MLA J R Lobo was the chief guest of the occasion. Fr Jayaprakash D’Souza, Padav ward corporator Akhil Alva, Shaktinagar parish council vice president Denis Machado was present at the dais.

 

Fr Walter welcomed the gathering. Vincent D’Souza proposed vote of thanks. Asha Monteiro and William Colaco compered the programme. Variety cultural shows were held as part of entertainment event.

 

The jaggery/water, tender coconut and food was served to the gathering.
