Belgaum, 13 March 2011: Second Vishwa Kannada Sammelan was inaugurated on Friday 11th March 2011 at Belgaum. Inauguration procession, cultural programs by students, performance by folk artists, Sirigannada Kavigoshti and ‘Nammabhimana’ from movie actors were part of Vishwa Kannada Sammelan as can be seen in the following pictures.

Minister Govind Karjol, poet G.S. Shivarudrappa, Infosys chief mentor N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, MP Prabhakar B. Kore, and writer U.R. Ananthamurthy at the inauguration of the second Vishwa Kannada Sammelan in Belgaum on Friday.

A large crowd fills the district stadium in Belgaum on the second day of the sammelan.

 


The sounds of percussion instruments reverberated in the air as folk artistes performed on day two of the Vishwa Kannada Sammelana in Belgaum on Saturday.

 


Over 1,000 artistes lit up the district stadium in Belgaum with the folk diversity of Karnataka.
