Bangalore, 02 February 2010: Konkani Samudai, Bangalore Annual get together and talent show was held on 26th January 2010 at Christha Prabhaalaya church, Jayanagar. The main aim of this event is to bring together all the Konkani Samudai members under one roof and showcase their cultural talent & skills. At the same time, they get an opportunity to familiarize themselves with other Samudai members and also the younger generations get to know Konkani Catholic tradition. The cultural program included competitions in singing, dance and fancy dress for all age groups and honoring of meritorious students who got distinction in S.S.L.C, P.U.C, Graduation Post Graduation, Engineering, Medicine, Sports (Represented National or State Level), Catechism( 8th & 10th std) and excelled in other fields.

The morning program started with the holy mass at 09:30am celebrated by Fr. Michael Menezes. Following the mass, all members and guests gathered at the Parish hall. There was a gathering totaling around 250 members and guests.

The cultural program started with a prayer by Fr. Michael Menezes by welcome speech by the President and honoring of the guests, Judges, Secretary and the President. The chief guest of the program Mr. Charles Gomes (Chairman of Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations ... http://fkca.net) gave a call to all the Konkani Catholics to be united and invited everyone for the upcoming Federation Day to be held at St. Joseph’s Indian High School Grounds on 31st January 2010.

Cultural programs for various categories were held in full spirit and the audience enjoyed the cultural show. It was delightful to see participants from all age groups ranging from 2 years to 70 years old on the stage with enthusiasm and passion. In between the talent show competitions, there were skits performed by Mr. Ajith D’souza, Mr. Ashwin Peris, Mr. Jerome D’silva, Mr. Salvador and Mr. Don.

There were various games organized for all age groups and these games brought enthusiasm, excitement and laughter among the gathering. During the lunch break, members interacted with each other. Apart from the competitions, members presented various other programs. The whole day program was meticulously compeered by Master of Ceremonies Mr. Akil DSouza Moodubelle and Mr. Winston Urva with flawless planning and execution from Mrs. Irene D’souza.

The Annual Get Together and Talent Show concluded by the Prize distribution ceremony.

It is nice to see that our parish (moodubelle)member Mr.Akil Along with Mr.Winston(urva) hosted the entire programe.I came to know that Akil hosted the Koramangala Konkani association programe too.i feel proud that our parish talent is exploring in Bangalore wish akil all the best.may God bless his talent..
