Kuwait: KCWA celebrates Christmas Tree - 2015 with Mangalorean traditional flavor

Kuwait, 08 Dec 2015: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) celebrated Christmas at the leadership of its president Albert Praveen Menezes at Khaitan here on Friday December 4.
Fr Noel D’Almeida, parish priest of Salmiya here was the chief guest. The programme started with prayer led by Satish Saldanha. Albert Praveen Menezes welcomed the gathering.
The merit scholarships and mementos were distributed to member’s children who excelled in the academic year 2014-15. Alwyn Noronha led the proceedings of merit scholarship awards. Sponsors of the event were felicitated by Fr Noel D’Almieda. The newly-designed website www.kcwakuwait.org was re-launched during the event. Allan D’Souza Paladka was felicitated for designing the website. Fr Noel delivered the Christmas message to the gathering.
Winners of Talent Competition group dance in junior, senior and adults section performed their dances. GVOM winner Morvin along with other members enthralled the audience with the melodious singing. Lucy Aranha and team sailed the gathering into the world of laughter with their skits. The art works were auctioned among audiences. Vincent Flavia D’Souza won the painting in auction. The masterpiece was created by Trevor Pacheco. Lots of spot prizes were awarded during the event. The Salmiya parish choir group led by Kiran Gonsalves presented Christmas carols. Children were excited as the Santa made his entry. Goodies were distributed to the kids. Housie-Housie was conducted by Stephen Machado.
The members’ affairs co-ordinator Vijay D’Souza conducted Members’ draws for the active members present at the venue, and also for the renewal of the memberships for 2016 and life members and Patron Members. Hamper draw was held with fabulous prizes during the event. Gilbert Mathias bagged a gift for highest hamper sales. KCWA Online Christmas quiz winner Macklin D’Souza was presented with a gift.
Louis D’Costa proposed the vote of thanks. Fr Noel led the grace before meals. Sumptuous dinner was served by Ceasers Group of Restaurants.
Prem Crasto captured the whole event with his skills in photography. The backdrop was done by Godwin. Anand D’Souza of Waves Events & Engineering provided lights and sounds. The programme was compered by Deepak Andrade and Manohar Prabhu. The programme was coordinated by Leena Fernandes and well supported by management Committee members.
