Mumbai: St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road holds AGM

Mumbai, 03 Aug 2015: The sixth annual general body meeting of St Joseph’s Konkani Welfare Association, Mira Road was held at Infant Jesus Hall of St Joseph’s Church, Mira Road here on Sunday August 2.
The meeting started with a prayer. Fr Melvyn D’Cunha OCD, parish priest of St Joseph’s parish, Mira Road was inducted as spiritual director of the Association.
The Association president John Crasta, welcomed Fr Melwyn D’Cunha by offering a bouquet.
During the meeting, Association secretary Arun Noronha gave a brief report of the social welfare activities carried out during past year and the activities planned for 2015-2016.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Melvyn D’Cunha said that he is very happy to see the growth of the Association. In the year 1996-97, when he was assistant parish priest of Mira Road parish, the need of the Konkani Welfare Association was felt for the welfare of Konkani language and to help the needy. Now the Association has grown so much, it is a registered entity. This is possible because of the selfless service rendered by the members of Association. He said that by working together, with a motto of welfare of others, the Association can grow and help for the betterment of the society, said Fr Melvyn.
