Mangalore: Varsha of St Ann’s School Bags 4 Silver Medals in National Sports Meet

Mangalore, 11 January 2011: Varsha R, Class IX student of St Ann’s High School, who bagged four silver medals in the National level sports meet held in Pune, Maharastra from Tuesday January 4 to Wednesday January 5 was felicitated by the school authorities and the students’ community, here on Monday January 10 morning.

 

 

The National level sports meet was organized by the department of Public Instruction.

 

Varsha bagged second place in 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters and 4 x 100 meters relay in under 17 years age-group.

 

St Ann’s High School head teacher Sr Rita Pinto, St Ann’s education institutions joint secretary Sr Lydia Fernandes, Varsha’s parents Rohit and Vani, coach Dinesh Kundar, parents-teachers Association president Kudpi Sridevi Shenoy, the Association executive committee members, heads of St Ann’s education institutions of the campus; teaching and non-teaching staff were present at the occasion.

 

 

The silver medalist Varsha was taken in an open jeep in the nearby city streets followed by the procession of student’s community.
