Udupi/M’Belle: Commendable sports achievements of St. Lawrence Educational Institutions

Udupi/M’Belle , Sep 18, 2014: St. Lawrence Educational Institutions have registered commendable sporting achievements during the first half of the academic year 2014-15. The most remarkable achievements being in Volleyball Tournaments in which, St. Lawrence PU College, St. Lawrence English Medium High School and Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School have won at various levels. Besides there are achievements in Girls Football and Shuttle Badminton Tournaments.

 

St. Lawrence PU College:

St. Lawrence PU College  Girls Football Team won first place at the Udupi Taluk South Zone Football Tournament held at St. Mary’s PU College, Shirva on 3 September 2014 and qualified to participate at the Udupi District level Football Tournament at Manipal on 13 September 2014 in which they secured Second position. The team is now qualified to participate in the Karnataka State level Football competition that will be held at Kodagu in November 2014.

 

 

In Volleyball Tournament, the Girls team of St. Lawrence PU College secured First place in the Udupi Taluk South Zone Volleyball Tournament that was held at St. Lawrence PU College Ground, Moodubelle on 12 September 2014 and was qualified to participate at the Udupi District level Volleyball Tournament that was held at Kota on 15 September in which they secured Second position. The Girls Volleyball team will be participating at the Karnataka State level Volleyball Tournament.

 

 

Some of the students from both Girls Football and Volleyball teams have been selected to represent Udupi District at the Inter-district Football and Volleyball Tournaments at the Karnataka State level.

 

 

Hanumantha, Ninth Standard student of St. Lawrence Kannada Medium High School secured Second place in the Discuss Throw event at the District Level Rural Competition Under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan and was selected to participate at the Mysore Division level competition.

 

 

St. Lawrence English Medium High School

The higher primary boys team  won the Zonal level Volleyball match held at Belle Church Aided Higher Primary School, Moodubelle.

 

The same team also  won the Udupi  Taluk level Volleyball match held at Padubidri Govt.Higher Primary School and were qualified to participate in the udupi District level Volleyball Tournament.

The Higher Primary boys, Jenson D’Souza, Rovin Noronha and Adithya won the Udupi  Taluk and District   level Shuttle Badminton Competition held at Shankarpura and Ajjarakadu respectively.

Jenson D’souza of 7th Std. participated in the State level Shuttle Badminton Competition held at Chamaraja Nagar, Mysore.

The Girls Volleyball Team emerged as champions  at the Udupi taluk level Volleyball competition held at Padubidri Govt. Higher Primary School and were qualified to participate at the Udupi District level Volleyball Tournament.

Congratulations! for the young students. Dear Loelo,even i felt the same this is the effect of reader comments. How come all the photos clicked with the complete team jersey. If you have team uniform how you allowed the players to play with three different team uniform, is the school administrators not bothered about that? So many questions to be answered....

You have done a commendable job Dr Eugene. Lack of information has resulted in low lying hyper critics raise their ugly heads. Now a days publicity is the key word and we should learn this from our Prime Minister. We should not expect others to find out our achievements even though it is said that your left hand should not know what your right hand is doing.
