Kundapur: Monti Fest celebrations at Our Lady of Rosary parish

Kundapur, 08 Sep 2014: The parishioners of Our Lady of Rosary, here celebrated Monti Fest with fervor on Monday September 8. 

 

St Mary’s Pre-University College principal Fr Praveen Amrut Martis blessed the newly-donated enclosure to place the statue of Infant Mary and also new paddy-sheaves at the parish grounds, here on Monday morning.

 

It was taken in a procession in the main streets along with little children showering flowers in honor of Infant Mary, accompanied by choir and brass band.

 

Kundapur parish priest Fr Anil D’Souza celebrated the festal Holy mass along with assistant parish priest Fr Paul Prakash D’Souza.

 

 

Fr Paul in his homily said, ‘Mother Mary is the ideal mother who was filled with God’s love.  The feast of Nativity of Mary is a family feast that strengthens the bonds.  Its also feast of girls and women, to follow Mother Mary in her ideals.  We ought to give respect to all girls and women in society,’ said Fr Paul.

 

Fr Anil conveyed best wishes of feast to the flock on behalf of all priests.

 

The new paddy-sheaves and sugarcane was distributed to the parishioners and children.

 

The clergies blessed the vehicles of parishioners parked in parish ground.

 

A large number of faithful attended the festal celebrations.
