Udupi: Poornaprajna Evening College celebrates Sanskritotsav

Udupi, 14 Aug 2014: The wealth of knowledge that is found in Sanskrit is also shared in other languages. What is not found in Sanskrit will not be there in other languages. In ancient times, Sanskrit was widely spoken in India; even parrots were known to mutter in Sanskrit. Sanskrit is the integral language, said Swami Vishwapriya Adamar, chairman of Poornaprajna Education Institution.
Swami Vishwapriya was speaking during Sanskritotsav programme held at Poornaprajna Evening College, here on Wednesday August 13.
Mangalore University local Sanskrit Union president Dr Ramesh T S was the chief guest, said that Sanskrit is the base for many languages in India, which has contributed significantly for the growth of other languages. The need of the hour is follow Sanskrit to avoid Indian language distorted by English, said Dr Ramesh.
The girl students presented the splendor of Sanskrit by singing during Sanskritotsav programme.
Poornaprajna Evening College principal Dr Madhavi S Bhandary presided the programme.
Sanskrit Professor Vidwan Dr Ramakrishna Udupa welcomed the gathering. The student Vandita compered the programme. The student Madhukeshwar Hegde proposed vote of thanks.
