Kundapur: Catholic Sabha organizes Inter-School Patriotic Singing Competitions

Kundapur, 10 Aug 2014: The Catholic Sabha of Our Lady of Rosary parish, here organized patriotic singing competitions for the students of all schools and PU Colleges that lies in the limits of Kundapur town council at St Mary’s Pre-University College auditorium, here on Sunday August 10.
Our Lady of Rosary assistant parish priest Fr Prakash D’Souza presided the programme here on Sunday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Fr Prakash said, ‘Not every participant will get prize in the any competition, but one got to partake in sports spirit. Meanwhile, patriotic songs should be sung with enthusiasm and in a great spirit that transpires the audience to the realm of freedom struggle,’ said Fr Prakash.
Charles Carvalho who was the key sponsor of competition and chief guest said, ‘We ought to keep alive patriotic spirit in us. Besides, we need to reminiscence the sacrifices of our free fighters who laid down their life to get us freedom form imperial forces,’ said Charles.
The competitions were held in 4 divisions and groups beginning from Class I to II PUC. The prizes were distributed to the winners.
Seventy five students from 9 education institutions partaken in the competitions.
Ganesh Gangolli, Gopalkrishna Joshi and Chandra Byndoor were the jurors of competitions.
Our Lady of Rosary parish Catholic Sabha unit president Wilson Olivea welcomed the gathering. The secretary Victoria D’Souza proposed vote of thanks.
