Tenth Annual Sports Meet held in Jnanaganga PU College, Nellikatte

Mooddubelle, 04 Jan 2023: The annual sports competition of the Jnanaganga PU College, Nellikatte was organized in the college premises on 31 December 2022. The sportmeet was inaugurated at 9.30 am by hoisting the college flag by Ramesh Shetty-Development Officer of the United Insurance Company, Manipal. The sports torch was passed on by the  sportsmen and women and the students who were chosen at the state level competition lighted the sports flame.

 

Niranjan Rao Belle and Bharat Nayak HRO in Oman who were the guests of honour  inaugurated the sports meet by releasing the pigeons. Niranjan Rao Belle broke the coconut initiating the sports competition.

 

Speaking on this occasion, the chief guest Ramesh Shetty said that in recent times students have not been showing enough interest and enthusiasm in sports. Sports not only promotes physical fitness but also develops personality of an individual. Bharat Nayak wished the students well in their competition.

 

 

U. L. Bhat, Principal of the Jnanaganga PU College and  Prabhakar K.S., officer of GIEC Cooperative Credit Society, Udupi were present on the dais.

 

The prayer was recited by the students. Statistics lecturer Mrs. Vanyashree welcomed the guests, Commerce lecturer Mrs. Divya compered the programme.

 

The valedictory programme of the Tenth Annual Sports Meet of the Jnanaganga PU College was organized at 4 pm in the ‘Jnanamantapa’ of the college. Mukunda Kamath, a businessman from Moodubelle was the chief guest. He alsong with the local resident Mrs. Mohini Pai distributed prizes to the winners in the Sports Meet. English lecturer Bhaskar Acharya compered the programme.
