Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary pays rich tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on birth anniversary

Mangaluru, 03 Oct 2020: The birth of anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi was celebrated with low key owing to Covid – 19, here on Friday October 2 morning.

 

Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi by laying a garland to his statue near Town Hall, here on Friday.

 

 

In his message, Srinivas recalled Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to city during his lifetime and urged the people to follow the path laid down by him.  PM’s Bharat Swaaccha Abhiyan is one of Mahatma’s dream to make India speck clean and lead Indians healthy lives.

 

The minister also laid garland to the portrait of the former PM Lal Bahadur Shastry on the latter’s birth anniversary.

 

Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra, leaders of different political parties, heads of NGOs and others were present.

 

The event was concluded by singing National Anthem.
