Udupi/Kuntalnagar: Members of St. Theresa Ward celebrate feast of their patron saint

Udupi, 08 Oct 2014: The members of St. Theresa Ward of St. Antony’s Parish Kuntalnagar celebrated the feast of their patron saint on Wednesday, 8 October 2014 at the residence of Robert Mathias. Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa, parish priest of Kuntalnagar offered mass at 11 am.
In his brief homily, Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa highlighted the importance of individual, group and family prayer in everyone’s life in particular and in the life of the community in general.
Following the mass, a brief stage programme was organized. Gurkars from three out of four wards of the parish were present on the dais along with Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa and Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council-Valerian Mathias. Besides Mrs. Jacintha Noronha, Gurkarn of St. Theresa ward, representatives Lloyd Gomes and Mrs. Anita D’Sa were also present.
Mrs. Jacintha Noronha, Gurkarn of St. Theresa Ward welcomed the gathering and offered flowers to the guests on the dais. Valerian Mathias who had been the Gurkar of St. Theresa Ward for the last 18 years was honoured by Rev. Fr. Denis D’Sa. The elders of the ward were also felicitated by Fr. Denis by offering them flowers and gifts.
Various spot games were organized for the members of the ward and prizes were distributed to the winners. Around 50 members of the ward were present for the ward feast.
Miss Valitha Lobo compeered the programme and Valerian mathais proposed the vote of thanks.
Lunch was served at the end of the programme from the dishes voluntarily brought by different members of the ward.
