M’belle: PTA inaugurated in St. Lawrence PU College

Moodubelle, 04 Jul 2013: The  General body of P.T.A. of St. Lawrence Composite  P.U. college was held on 2nd July 2013 at the college auditorium at 2.30 p.m.

 

Mr. Ramachandra Nellikar  the Principal of   K.M.E.S. P.U. College, Karkala was the  chief guest. In his speech he highlighted the responsibilities of the parents while their children are being educated.  In his speech he highlighted the following points. By example one can motivate the children. By being disciplined  one can discipline his or her children. During training period  no concession should be shown; lack of love by the parents will create a void in the child which will make way towards deviant behaviour.  He also appealed the parents to create an awareness in the child to value that is good and beautiful.

 

This was followed by honouring  the toppers in S.S.L.C. and in P.U.C.  public exams. One  student in S.S.L.C.  and one each from Arts, Commerce and Science in PUC.  The economically poor students each from class from High school and P.U.C.  were helped financially.

 

 

There the election was conducted for the President, Vice President, Internal Auditor and representatives from 8th  and 1 P.U.C. Mr. Joseph Martis was elected  as the president, Mr. S. Gopalkrishna Nayak   was elected as the vice president and Mr. Monthu Castelino was elected as the internal auditor.  These newly elected office bearers were felicitated by the outgoing president Mrs. Vidhya Shetty,  who was the president for one year and due to her domestic engagements she has resigned from her post.  The president of the  function Mrs. Vidhya Shetty in her presidential address thanked everyone for their co-operation and wished well the new office bearers.  It was a great honour and  God given opportunity  to  serve as the president of PTA for  one year and work the institution great heights.

The Principal welcomed the guests.  The Secretary  Mr. Valerian Crasta  read the report  and the Treasurer  Mr. Charles Quadros placed before the house the  Account.  Mrs. Hilda Aranha the senior teacher of  High School   section  proposed the vote of  thanks.

 

Mr. Joseph D’Souza the Physical Education Lecturer was the Master of Ceremony. Prior   to the meeting,  the parents of the P.U. Students gathered in the respective classes to meet the teachers and got their guidance. Following this the meeting of the Executive Committee  meeting was conducted.  Refreshments  were served to the members. The meeting ended at 4.00 p.m.  with National anthem.
