Four more arrested in home stay attack case

Mangalore, 10 Oct 2012: With city police arresting four more in the home stay attack case, the number of arrests in this case has gone up to 28.

 

The arrested are: Kiran, Shreyas, Deekshit and Ganesh.

 

The accused who were arrested earlier are: The accused are: Sharath, Tharanath Kannur, Rajesh, Chethan, Sunil, Harish, Shailesh, Puneeth, Varun Poojary, Kiran Poojary, Suresh Poojary, Mithun Poojary, Sampath, Deepak, Ramesh Kotiyan, Jagadish, Nithin, Dinesh, Sandeep Shetty, Venugopal, Tharanath, Sampath Poojary, Suresh Poojary and Deepak.

 

The incident was reminiscent of attack by Sri Rama Sene activists on revelers at a pub in the city on January 24, 2009.

 

On July 28 this year, around 50 ruffians took it on themselves to lay down the law to a group of revelers at Morning Mist Resort at Padil on the city outskirts here. The hoodlums who got wind of the party at the resort barged in and starting physically jostling the revelers which included women and as men. A girl who tried to escape from their clutches was brought back to the resort and thrashed. Meanwhile, the JMFC court issued arrest warrant against two electronic media personnel for alleged collusion in the attack.
