Mangalore, 11 Aug 2012: Two victims of the Mangalore homestay attack today asked the state government to suspend Karnataka State Women’s Commission Chairperson C Manjula for submitting a "questionable" report on the incident and handover the case to CBI.
"Manjula has not met us on her visit to the city and the government should reject her questionable report on Mangalore homestay attack," Gurudutt Kamath and Vijay Kumar, told reporters here.
The boys rapped Manjula’s report which, they alleged, claimed that they were under the influence of drugs.
ADGP (Law and Order) Bipin Gopalkrishna had announced that police did not find any evidence of ganja and drugs at the homestay, they said."But on what basis is Manjula claiming that we were under influence of drugs during the birthday bash?," they asked.
They also demanded CBI inquiry into the incident as they had "no faith in police investigating the case".
Manjula, in her report, alleged that the boys were under the influence of drugs and police let them off without subjecting them to medical tests.
On July 28, over 12 students, including girls, partying on the outskirts of the city, were targetted by suspected activists of ’Hindu Jagarana Vedike’, who accused them of indulging in "immoral activities".
The attack drew widespread condemnation with government describing it as ’inhuman’ and promising to punish those involved.

How you all can take girls to a lonely place where surrounding is common labor people and traditional Hindus? Future while making party please take care and take care of the feelings of the surrounded people. If you all are legally doing the parties where common mentality public accept the idea, then do it, but keep a armoured security. But fast growing Mangalore, younger generation do not forget that still old mentality, old, poor senior citizens, following their traditions still live amongst you. Take this is as a lesson to be cautious and improvement. |
