Kundapur: Way of the Cross marks the Good Friday observance

Kundapur, 07 April 2012: Good Friday is the day Jesus died on the cross to save sinners and it is a day of fast and penance for all Catholics all over the globe. Special prayers and especially three hours Good Friday ceremony is being held starting with Way of the Cross followed by nnveiling and veneration of the Cross at every Parish.
In Kundapur Rosary Church too held the Good Friday ceremony at 4:30pm which started with Way of the Cross at the open ground of the church. A 20 feet long Cross was carried by devotees with prayers and reverence. The way of the Cross is held at fourteen stations beginning with first station where Pilot orders death of Jesus on cross and ends at the fourteenth station where dead body of Jesus is in the alms of Mother Mary. The every station of the cross was conducted by all ward leaders and association members carrying the cross across the stations with devotion and meditation.
A large number of devotees were present for the Way of Cross and the entire Way of the Cross was held in total devotion and zeal. Later, the unveiling and veneration of the cross was conducted by Rev. Fr. Alban D’Souza (Vicar Forane) and Fr. Elias D’Souza (Principal of PU College).
