Udupi: Deepajyothi Programme held

Udupi, 03 June 2011: In HIV/Aids, Udupi district stands first in the state which is a matter of concern and a lot of work has to be done in this direction to ease this concern. The works such as supporting the people who are infected and also make provision for the future of their children are important. People who can offer their help for this cause have to come forward.
A program of this kind was organized in coordination with Population Foundation of India in Jilla Congress Bhavana in Udupi. 40 children of the members of Deepajyothi Network of Positive Peoples were distributed books, pen, pencil, school bag, umbrella, chappals and dress.
The program was conducted by entrepreneur Pramod Madhwaraj, who spoke on the occasion and said that the students should always remember the help they received. They need to make good progress in their studies and achieve better life, he said.
Chief Guest of the program, District Aids Control Officer Dr. Ashok Kumar spoke and appreciated Deepajyothi organization for their program and wished to have similar programs in future also. Deepajyothi President Sanjeeva Poojary presided over the function. District In charge Mahabhalesh was also present on the occasion.
Mohan Suvarna welcomed the gathering. Shanthi Noronha compeered the program. Kumari Uma proposed vote of thanks.
