Bantwal: Environmental awareness among students essential - Minister Rai

Bantwal, 13 Jul 2014: It’s due to greed of humans; the eco environmental issues are widespread. Meanwhile, the need of the hour is to create environmental awareness among the students in schools and colleges, said state forests and Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai.
The minister Rai was speaking after inaugurating Spoorti eco club at Anugraha Women’s Pre-University College, near Kalladka, here on Sunday July 13 morning.
The food is as essential to humans like environment. The mankind has to face consequences of environmental destruction. The teachers had to create awareness on environment among the students which can curb the environmental destruction to a greater extent, said minister Rai.
The minister Rai planted a sapling at the College campus to inaugurate the eco club on the occasion.
Karaya gram panchayat member K S Abdulla was the chief guest.
Anugraha Women’s Pre-University College correspondent Yassin Baig presided the programme.
The College principal Jyotiratna welcomed the gathering. The eco cell member student Nazimunnisa proposed vote of thanks. The secretary Afra Mehtab compered the programme.
