Bangalore, 21 June 2014: A 32-year-old professor prone to mood swings committed suicide after his wife allegedly joined him late for dinner at their house in Lal Bahadur Shastri Nagar, Indiranagar, late on Thursday night.
Sunil Doddannaiah, who works with East West College, KR Puram, lived with his wife, two children and parents.
"On Thursday night, Sunil called his wife for dinner and she joined the table 10 minutes later. An infuriated Sunil locked himself up inside his bedroom," his father Doddannaiah told police.
According to Doddannaiah, Sunil suffered from mood swings and would lock himself up inside the room whenever he fought with the family.
"When he locked himself up in the room, we thought he would become his normal self in the morning. We panicked when he didn’t respond to our repeated calls and knocks on the door on Friday morning. We broke open the door and found him hanging from the ceiling fan," his father told police. Police said they did not recover any suicide note.
