Karkal, Jun 18, 2014 : ‘Acquiring knowledge and keeping abreast with the latest developments are essential for career growth,’ said Sri Govind N Dongre, deputy general manager of Vijaya Bank.
Govind N Dongre was inaugurating 2-week Induction Training Program for the newly recruited assistant managers of the Bank. The program was organized by Nitte Institute of Banking and Finance at their Nitte Campus, near here on Tuesday June 17.
Govind N Dongre recalled the contribution of the undivided Dakshina Kannada district to banking industry in the country by way of producing many eminent bankers.
Dongre highlighted Vijaya Bank’s reach to rural areas and adaptation of latest banking technology, which have given an impetus to the Bank’s business growth. He also appreciated the role of Nitte Institute of Banking and Finance in providing professional training to bank employees.
Speaking on the occasion, Nitte University registrar Dr M S Moodithaya analyzed the role of banks in the emerging global economy and emphasized the great career opportunities available to young bankers.
NMAMIT principal Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar shed light on the role of technology which has revolutionized the banking Industry, and made available many benefits to the customers at affordable cost.
Syndicate Bank former chairman and managing director Dr N K Thingalaya in his presidential address recalled the contribution of Vijaya Bank to the undivided Dakshina Kannada district and the early strides taken by the Bank in implementing technology. He called upon the participants to meet the aspirations of the customers and provide exemplary services which will ensure the speedy growth for the Bank as well as economic benefits to the society at large.
