M’lore: Konkani Jagruti Abiyan held in 4 places across diocese

Mangalore, 2 Jun 2014: At the joint aegis of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy and Konkani Prachar Sanchalan, Konkani Jagruti Abhiyan by means of skit was held at Omzoor parish in Bantwal deanery on Saturday May 31 evening.  It was presented with the support of parish priest James D’Souza, Hanley Coelho and Lawrence.   
 
The skit was presented at Modankap parish auditorium during Yuva Saanz, programme that was organized by of parish ICYM unit, Bantwal deanery on Saturday May 31 at 7.00pm.
 
Fr Maxim Noronha welcomed the theater artistes.  ICYM president Santosh D’Souza, Wilma Bantwal, Ashit Pinto and others supported to present the skit.
  
The skit was presented in Bajal parish ground after Sunday morning Mass on June 1.  The parish priest Fr Cyril Pinto and Naveen Lobo supported in organizing the event.
  
The skit was also presented at Radhakrishna temple of Chaptekar community, here on Sunday at 4.00pm. Narendra Nayak and friends supported in this regard.   
 
The Abhiyan was presented with the key objective of educating the Konkani speaking community to motivate them in pursuing Konkani subject that is being offered in schools as third optional subject. 

 

 

Arun Raj Rodrigues is the playwright.  Christopher of Neenasam trained artistes of Kalaakul – Konkani lone theater repertory promoted by Mandd Sobhann presented these skits.  These skits are held at the direction of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino and Konkani Prachar Sanchalan secretary Vitori Karkal.
