Abu Dhabi: NRI Philanthropist Muralidharan felicitated during ILA’s Gala Annual Dinner

Abu Dhabi, 27 May 2014: Indian Ladies Association, Abu Dhabi (ILA) hosted its 38th gala annual dinner at Thuraya ballroom of The Beach Rotana, one of the finest 5-star hotels here on Friday May 23.  The stage was set for an evening of glamour, grandeur and entertainment.

 

The event was attended by 550 people including dignitaries, businessmen, ILA members, guests and socialites. The theme of the evening was ’Celebrations in Style’.

 

Indian Ambassador to UAE T P Seetharam inaugurated the programme.

 

The new managing Committee of ILA was ushered in with a warm welcome.

 

This was followed by the release of ILA’s in house magazine ‘Insignia.’  It comprised of articles, poems and anecdotes which displayed the varied talents of the members.

 

The eminent businessman and philanthropist K Muralidharan, managing director of SFC Group was felicitated for his extraordinary contribution towards social welfare through the Muralya Foundation. Muralidharan is also the recipient of the NRI of the Year 2014 award.

 

 

ILA former president Jonia Mathew received an award for her dedicated service through the years 2006 to 2013.

 

The ILA ’Volleywood’ volleyball team was felicitated for bringing home the trophy in the International Volleyball match conducted by The Enthusiastic Volleyball Tournament.

 

The entertainment scene was set ablaze by rocking performances like fashion show, dance medleys, rap fusion and many more. Members of ILA from all walks of life, be it home makers or working women, took time out of their busy schedules, to put up these graceful performances. The members also performed regional dances like Lavani and Garba. there was a special performance from the Urban Bhangra troupe. The evening was inter-sped with spot prizes and entertaining games.

 

Lots of prizes were given away in raffles including diamond pendants, gold coins, gift vouchers and many more.

 

The main sponsors were EMKE Group, Liwa trading, BUMGA Group, Dhabi enterprises, SFC Group, Hyssna International,  Ajanta Jewllery, VLCC, Liali Jewellery etc.
