Mumbai: Souraba Ratna Puraskar to be conferred on Social Activist Prabha Suvarna

Mumbai, May 24, 2014 : At the joint aegis of Suma Souraba – Kannada fortnightly, Dakshina Kannada district Kannada and culture department and Jnana Mandara Education and Cultural Trust (Academy), Bangalore, ‘Samskrutika Sambrama – 2014’ will be held at Town Hall, Mangalore, on Saturday May 31.
Souraba Ratna Puraskar - 2014, will be conferred on N P Suvarna and Prabha N Suvarna couple form Mumbai, in recognition of their four-decade of social service in Mumbai, said Suma Souraba, executive editor M J Rao.

Karnataka Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Harikrishna Punaroor will preside the programme here on Saturday.
Dr G D Joshi will inaugurate the programme.
Karnataka state forests minister B Ramanath Rai will confer Souraba Ratna Puraskar to N P Suvarna and Prabha couple on the occasion.
Prabha N Suvarna has a multifaceted personality served as president of Youngmen’s Education Society and also active member of Billawa Jagruti Balaga. She was retired from top post in Union Bank of India and continued to yeomen service in working with Kannada Sangha Mumbai ® and other Tulu – Kannadiga Associations.
She hails from Bejai in Mangalore town, migrated to metro in her childhood, where she pursued studies at Night High School, completed graduation from Ruparel College and joined Reserve Bank of India.
Suvarna family with 2 children lives in central suburb of Dadar. She was inspired by her uncle Damodar Suvarna and her husband N P Suvarna, to take active role in social welfare activities. She has been the recipient of several awards including Gem of Year by Kannada Sangha Mumbai ®
