Bantwal: NCC Annual Training Camp begins at Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu

Bantwal, May 23, 2014 : Ten-day annual training camp of 18 Karnataka NCC battalion commenced at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu, near here, on Monday May 19. About 450 NCC cadets from different schools and colleges of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district are under training in the camp.
Colonel M R Choudhary is the camp Commandant, Colonel S K Chauhan is the Deputy Camp Commandant, Captain N C Belliyappa is the training Officer for the camp.
There are 8 associate NCC officers Lieutenant Shakin Raj, Chief Officer Fernandes, First Officer Tauro, First Officer Ramesh Mayya, First Officer Gajanana Marate, First Officer Sudha K, Second Officer Ravindra Shetty and Third Officer D K Naik are detailed for the camp as ANOs.
Subedhar Major R B Gurung, is the camp Subhedar Major and six Junior Commissioned officers and fourteen Non-Commissioned are detailed for the camp.
G J Sakrates, principal of the Vidyalya has extended full co-operation for the smooth functioning of the camp in the Vidyalaya.
The 10-day camp aims at imparting practical training to NCC Cadets in drill, weapon training, service subjects like map reading, field craft, battle craft etc. Cadets will also be given exposure on social service activities including social awareness campaign on illiteracy, poverty, education of girl child, ill effects of alcohol and drug abuse etc.
