Udupi: Professional life excels with social welfare; Dr Radhakrishna Ithal

Udupi, 12 Feb 2014: All professions are equal, while an individual can lead an ideal life, if one overcomes his/her weaknesses, free from any addictions, learns from ones mistakes and honestly discharges ones responsibilities. The professional life would be successful, when one overcomes caste, creed and faith, apolitical and earns his/her living with just means and strives for social welfare, said Dr Radhakrishna Ithal, principal of Sri Madwa Vadiraja Technical College, Bantakal, near here.
Dr Radhakrishna was speaking during the function organized by Udupi district taximen’s Association ® Bantakal unit at Rotary auditorium, Bantakal, near here on Tuesday February 11.
Dt Radhakrishna urged the taximen’s and auto rickshaw Associations, social welfare and voluntary organizations that are functioning in the neighbourhood of Bantakal to join Madwa Vadiraj Technical College to make the locality of Bantakal an ideal neighbourhood, urged Dr Radhakrishna.
The financial assistance of Rs 1.6 lac was presented to Laxman Acharya, for treatment of his son Class III student Akash who was diagnosed of suffering from blood cancer. The taximen’s and auto rickshaw Association contributed Rs 33,000, Madwa Vadiraj Technical College contributed Rs 30,000, Rajapur Saraswat Yuva Vrunda contributed Rs 12,000, Ignatius D’Souza, Madhav Kamat, public celebration of Ganeshotsav Committee – altogether contributed Rs 85,000 in this regard.
The taximen’s Association honorary president Madhav Kamat presided the programme.
The taximen’s Association – Bantakal unit president Vincent Castelino Palke, auto rickshaw drivers and owners Association president Bhaskar Devadiga, Ignatius D’Souza, Shankar Kotian, Yuva Vranda president Anantaram Wagle were present at the dais.
Shirva gram panchayat member K R Patkar briefed on the illness of Akash Acharya.
