Udupi, 15 Nov 2013: The books exhibition and Vision Expo that has been organized in the city by Mangalore-based Shanthi Prakashan has become a major attraction for people in the city.
The books that are published by Shanthi Prakashan are displayed at the exhibition. The Vision Expo that has been highlighting the shortcomings of the society is keenly viewed by the visitors. In one of the case, wherein the tourists journeying in lower deck, source the water by drilling holes into the hull of the ship, while the tourists on upper deck are turning a blind eye to the imminent threat of sinking the ship. It projects the citizens’ aloofness to the social evils. Besides, the enmity and mistrust that is plaguing the society has become the menace greater than the challenge of climbing China’s great wall. The replicas of Indian judiciary loopholes, commercialization of education, the evils of interest-based financial system, the burning issues of lustfulness, nudity, immorality, corruption etc are indeed pricking the conscience of the visitors.
The placards on comments of intellectuals, veteran writers, religious leaders and dignitaries from different communities related to Shanthi Prakashan are displayed prominently at the exhibition.
The books are being sold briskly at the exhibition, while the people of different communities in the society are showing equal interest in buying such books. ‘The books are being sold beyond our expectation that testifies the interest of people in the books published by Shanthi Prakashan,’ say the organizers.
The exhibition that was begun at Jamia masjid road, here on Sunday November 10 will conclude on Sunday November 17.
