Udupi: Women’s Wing of Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind & GIO Held Protest-Rally seeking Capital Punishment to R

Udupi, 06 Jan 2012: The women’s wing of Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind and Girls’ Islamic Organization (GIO) staged a massive protest-rally in the city on Saturday January 5, against the gang-rape of medico in New Delhi recently.

 

The protest-rally was held through Diana Circle, service bus stand and concluded at office of Superintendent of Police (SP) where a public meeting was convened.

 

 
Veteran writer Tara Bhat and GIO Udupi district convener Mariam Assadi, state secretary Kamarunnisa addressed the protesters.

 

 

 

Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind district convener Sameena Shukoor, district deputy convener Jamila Hoode and state advisory Committee member Kulsoom Abubakker were present at the occasion.

 

Jamaat-e-Islami-Hind youth unit president Hussein Bengre, Idris Hoode, Mohammed Marakada and others organized this protest rally.

 

The protesters presented a memorandum to SP Dr Boralingayya, to forward the same to President Pranab Mukherjee, seeking capital punishment for the rapists.
