Mangaluru: City sleuths nab 2 men peddling hemp; seize narcotics worth Rs 2.5 lac

Mangaluru, 25 May 2017: The city sleuths led by sub division ACP Uday Nayak nabbed 2 men who were peddling hemp sourced from Odisha in city on Wednesday, May 24.
The arrested are identified as 20-year-old Shantanu Kumar Shahu from Odisha and 27-year-old Vikram yane Jayaram, resident of Meenakaliya, Panambur, here. The accused were arrested while trying to sell hemp nearby Mangala Stadium, here, on Wednesday.
The police seized 5 kilograms of hemp valued @ Rs 2.5 lac, 2 mobile handsets worth Rs 12,000, digital weighing scale, Rs 500 cash and an auto rickshaw, altogether worth Rs 4.37 lac from the accused.
Barke sub-inspector Rajesh A K, crime unit sub-inspector Narendra and assistant sub-inspector Prakash, policemen Ganesh, Rajesh Attavar, Kishore Kotian, Kishore Poojary, Nagaraj, Mahesh Patil and others were involved in this operation.
