Mangaluru: Kanachur Hospital sensitizes people on TB

Mangaluru, 04 Mar 2017: Kanachur Hospital & Research Centre, Natekal, here, in commemoration of World Tuberculosis Day, in association with District TB Control Office under District Health & Family Welfare Department, held a Tuberculosis Awareness Poster release, here on Friday, March 3.
Karnataka medical education minister Dr Sharanprakash Patil, released the poster and highlighted the impact of the disease and also recognized Haji U K Monu, chairman, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) for his efforts into creating a fabulous medical college infrastructure. Dr Sharanprakash Patil also inaugurated the new fully air-conditioned Physiotherapy Clinic at Kanachur Hospital.
Dr K S Ravindranath, vice chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, expressed his happiness to the students of Kanachur Health Sciences campus, that is medical, nursing, physiotherapy, optometry & medical lab technology) and congratulated them for being the 1st Batch of Kanachur. He also lauded Haji U K Monu, chairman, Kanachur Institute of Medical Sciences, for his efforts in providing the best infrastructure, faculties and facilities and on his fabulous vision.
Dr Ali Irani, former chief physio for the Indian Cricket Team and head of department of physiotherapy unit, Nanavati Super Speciality Centre, expressed his happiness to see the new fully air-conditioned physiotherapy clinical unit and volunteered to take lectures to the students of Kanachur Physiotherapy College on the event. He expressed his happiness to the TB awareness initiative.
Abdul Rahiman - director KIMS, Dr Ramakrishna - DHO, Dr Badarudeen - District TB Officer, Dr HS Virupaksha - Dean KIMS, Dr Devi Shetty - medical superintendent, Dr Rohan Monis - chief administrative medical officer, U T Iftikar Ali, Mohammed Suhail - principal Kanachur College of Physiotherapy were present.
