Mumbai: Christian delegation urges MPCC to issue tickets to contest civil polls

Mumbai, 18 Jan 2017: Janet L D’Souza, former deputy chairperson of Maharashtra state Minority Commission and former president of women wing, Mumbai Pradesh Congress, here, on Tuesday, January 17, urged Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), to issue tickets to Christians to contest in Brahanmumbai Mahanagar Palika (BMMP) elections.
The delegation of Christians leaders in Mumbai led by Janet met MPCC president Ashok Chavan at Congress office, Gandhi Bhavan, Nariman Point, here on Tuesday, January 17 and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
The Congress veteran leaders Sachin Sawant, Jagtapbai, D D Tribhuvan, Bombay East Indian Association president William D’Souza, Catholic Sabha Mumbai president Rita D’Sa and Michael Furtado were present at the dais.
The former vice president Lawrence D’Souza Mulund, Kurla (W) – Holy Cross parish priest Fr Pascal Senav, Dolphy D’Souza, Priscilla W Buthello, Gaby D’Mello Kurla, Winnie D’Souza, Don Ageiro, advocate Raphael D’Souza and others were present.
