Udupi: St Lawrence Edu Institutions hold Anti-tobacco walkathon at Moodubelle

Udupi, 01 Dec 2016: St Lawrence education institutions, Moodubelle and Lions Club – Moodubelle, organized Anti-tobacco walkathon to sensitize people on evils of tobacco consumption at St Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle, on Wednesday, November 30.
Belle gram panchayat president Ranjini Hegde offered motion for the anti-tobacco walkathon here on Wednesday morning.
Speaking on the occasion, TP former president Devdas Hebbar said that children get easily attracted to tobacco products such as cigarettes, bidi, gutka etc that has evil effects on health and ruins the future.
St Lawrence High School senior teacher Leena D’Silva delivered the preliminary address highlighting the evils of tobacco.
The heads/teachers of St Lawrence education institutions, students held a walkathon in Moodubelle locality with placards and slogans against tobacco. They also presented roses to shopkeepers selling tobacco products.
