Lions Club holds Peace Poster drawing competition for English Medium School students Moodubelle

Moodubelle, 24 Oct 2016: Under the initiative of Lions Club Moodubelle a Peace Poster drawing contest was held for St. Lawrence English Medium School Modubelle on 22nd October 2016 at the school hall. The theme of the drawing competition is “Celebration of Peace“.

 

Peace Poster is a competition for all the students of the world initiated and supported by Lions Club globally. All the drawings from each school of the district around 50 schools will be sent to the District Level and judged by District Coordinator Ms. Sapna Suresh. Out of these three drawings will be selected and winners will get Rs. 5000/- Rs 3000/- and Rs.2000/- each plus memento and certificates. From the District level one will be selected for the global contest. Around 207 countries where Lion Club exits will participate and send their drawings to Chicago wherein 1st winner from students each from 207 countries will be adjudged and will be called to receive the 1st Prize in Chicago, U.S.A. The winner will accompanied by one parent of the student and expenses will be taken care by Lions Club International.  The winner will also receive US$ 5000/- cash prize along with memento and certificate. Besides 23 consolation prizes will be given and the winners will receive cash prize of $500 each.

 

 

The above information was given Lion Sapna Suresh, pmjf (Co-ordinator, Peach Poster-District Level) during the organizing of drawing competition to the students of Moodubelle St. Lawrence English Medium School. Prior to the competition a brief stage function was held. 
Ln. Elias D’Souza (President, Lions Club Moodubelle) accorded a warm welcome to the guests on dais namely Lion Suresh Prabhu, njf, Rev. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas (Correspondent St. Lawrence Academic Institutions), Ln. Elias Lobo (Former President Lions Club Moodubelle), Ln Henry Fernandes and Ms. Veera Fernandes (HM, St. Lawrence English Medium School) and felicited with floral bouquets.

 

Ln Sapna Suresh explained in details the reasons and rules and regulations of the competition and also how it is judged at district level and then at the international level and prizes the winners will get.

 

Ln. Devdas Hebbar njf conducted the stage program. Fr. Clement Mascarenhas wished good luck to the students. Ln. Suresh Prabhu njf also spoke on the occasion and wished the children good luck.

 

The Msw students of St. Mary’s College Shirva were present on the occasion.

 

In total 29 students took part in the drawing competition.
