Udupi: District-level Daylong training for Konkani Teachers held

Udupi, Aug 06, 2014 : The district level daylong training to Konkani teachers was held at Mother of Sorrows parish auditorium, here recently.
Udupi district education officer Ashok Kamat inaugurated the training programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok said, ‘The people of undivided Dakshina Kannada district have better utilized the opportunity to teach Konkani in schools that is bestowed by the state administration. We might have lagged behind a little. The education department will offer all the assistance that is essential in this regard,’ said Ashok.
Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino thanked all the teachers in taking Konkani studies to a higher level. He also briefed on Academy’s task in this regard. He also stressed upon the need to strengthen the task of Konkani studies in Udupi district.
The Academy registrar Dr Devdas Pai proposed vote of thanks.
Shirva – Don Bosco High School teacher Alwyn Danti Pernal, Vitori Karkal and Fr Valerian Fernandes were the resource persons, educated the Konkani teachers on different facets of teaching creatively and with enthusiasm.
