Udupi women won medals in national senior Athletics championship

Udupi, 16 August 2011: In the 31st National Seniors Athletics Championship conducted by the National Senior Athletics Federation, in Pondicherry recently, two of Udupi district women have won medals. Arunakala Rao a resident of Gudde Angadi, Bommarabettu Grama of Hiriyadka have won 3 gold medals and 1 silver medal. She won the gold medals in 1500 meter run, 800 meter run, long jump and won silver medal in 400 meter, in the above 55 years women’s category.

Similarly Sulatha Kamath a resident of Kaatapadi, won 1 silver medal. She won the silver medal in 800 meter run in above 45 years women’s category. With this victory both of them are qualified for the International Senior Athletics Championships.
