Eshwarappa convoy car kills woman

Channarayapatana, 21 July 2011: A woman was knocked down by the escort vehicle of BJP State president K S Eshwarappa near here on Wednesday.

 

Ratnabai (60) of Sedam taluk in Gulbarga district was working near Kattarighatta Gate in the taluk, where the road is being widened, when the speeding escort vehicle mowed her down, before coming to a halt in a ditch. A grievously injured Rathnabai died on the way to hospital.

 

Bheemaiah Vaddara, the husband of the victim, said none of the vehicles in the convoy, stopped after the accident. Local residents were agitated that Eshwarappa did not stop to enquire the fate of the victim.
