State will achieve progress if law and order is in place

Kaup, 21 April 2011: “Since the law and order has been maintained in the state it has become possible to achieve progress in the last five years” said Jilla Ustuvari Minister Dr. V. S. Acharya. He was speaking upon inaugurating the newly constructed Kaup Police Circle Office building on Sunday, which was built with a cost of rupees 14 lakhs under the government grant. He said that some changes in persons and the administration system of the police department is necessary and the government is committed to provide the necessary buildings, vehicles, arms and staff.
Kaup MLA Lalaji R. Mendon presided over the function and in his presidential address he said that, since some areas of Kaup constituency falls under Karkala Police jurisdiction the public are facing problems and he urged to have it transferred to Udupi. Also, he requested to provide additional vehicle facilities to Kaup and Shirva Police Stations.
Mangalore West Police Commissioner Aloka Mohan spoke on the occasion and said that since the police department need to work efficiently and friendly with the public, the public need to build up good relationship with the police. Shetty and Congress Former Jilla President M. A. Gafoor were present on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion were, Udupi Police Deputy Superintendent Jayanth Shetty, Karkala Police Deputy Superintendent Santhosh Kumar, Kaup Police Circle Inspector Cheluvaraj B., Kaup Police Inspectors Mohan Kottari and Girish Kumar. Udupi Jilla Police Superintendent Dr. Y. S. Ravikumar welcomed the guests and the gathering. Neelanand Nayak compeered the program. Additional Police Superintendent M. V. Venkateshappa proposed vote of thanks.
