Kuwait, 25 Sept 2012: After hosting audition for Zee International Antakshari, Indian Cultural Society brings you live excitement & entertainment with renowned playback singer & Music director Bappi Lahiri. An evening accompanied by Akriti Kakkar, Rajiv Nigam & many more artists with live orchestra from Bollywood.

Bappi Lahiri has his own unmatched personal style. He is the perfect blend of East and West, and his wardrobe ranges from the traditional Indian kurta and sherwani to the western sweatshirts and blazers. He is fond of wearing pieces of jewelry that represent significant symbols in his life. Bappi is famous throughout India for his trademark gold ornaments and sunglasses.
Bappi Lahiri was the pioneer of disco beats in India and his refreshing, vibrant, and rhythmic music had the entire nation dancing for decades. Bappi Lahiri is widely recognized throughout India as the sole originator of the disco beat in India. He is widely known as the "Disco King" in India, even today.

“Ooh la..la Ooh la...la” fame Bappi began his career as a music director at the young age of 19. He received his first opportunity in a Bengali film, Daadu (1972) and the first Hindi film for which he composed music was Nanha Shikari (1973). The film which established him in Bollywood was Tahir Husain’s Hindi film, Zakhmee (1975), for which he composed music and doubled as a playback singer. This film brought him to the heights of fame and brought forth a new era in the Hindi film industry.. He is the complete entertainer and superstar with his multiple talents as a singer, music director, and percussionist!
His album ’Bappi Magic - The Asli Baap Mix’, featuring popular numbers such as ’Gori Hai Kalaiyan’ and ’Jimmy Jimmy’ was released in 2004 to great fanfare and attained great success and following. The following year he composed the background score for the Jahnu Barua film, ’Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Maara’.

 

 

In 2006, he appeared on the popular television show ’Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs’ on Zee TV as co-judge with singers Alka Yagnik and Abhijeet. Bappi was also one of the celebrated judges for Zee TV’s ’Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007.
Legendry Bappi da has given music in thousands of film as well as his magnificent voice grabbed worldwide music lovers in popular songs like “ Tamma Tamma”, “ Raat Baqi Baat Baqi”, “ Yaar Bina Chain Kanha Re”,” I am a disco dancer”, “ Yaad Aa Raha Hai”,  and many more.

Today’s demanded playback singer AKRITI KAKKAR has started learning Hindustani classical music at the age of 5, from her mother & became a part of “Little Stars” the Anand Ji (Kalyanji Anandji fame) troupe, where she made her way through world tours. She is a winner of many awards right from TVS Sa Re Ga Ma National Talent Hunt. She is well knows judge & performer of reality shows on different TV channels.

Her solo music album "AKRITI" released by Sony Music with fresh original tracks. Music composed by Shankar Mahadevan & Akriti Kakkar. Ek Sapna (released during Last World Cup), Punjabi Pop Dhamaka 2000,  Baby Doll Chapter 2, song "Rangeela Re" became a chart topping remix,  A-TEEN  featuring the hit track "Jal Bin Machli",  Chicks on Fire (song "Saaiya Jhootto ka bara sartaj") -Film Do Aakhen 12 Haath. She worked for international project with Mattel & Sa Re Ga Ma HMV; an animated BARBIE movie called "Barbie & the Magic of Pegasus" for which she featured as the ’voice and face of Barbie’ in the video track called "Hope has wings”. This was the first time an association like this happened in India which brought in big success to the project.

 
Her popular songs are Dil Vich Lageya Ve ( Chup Chup Ke) title songs for film Shakalaka Boom Boom & Johney Gaddar, Hadsa Hadsa( film:Dhol), Loot Le Dil(Kidnap), , Rocky, Apne, Dus, InshAllah(Welcome), Marjaani Marjani & Khudaya Khair(Billu Barber) "Dil Khol Ke Lets Rock’ ( We Are Family) Aa Janejaa(Hello-Darling) and many more.
Akriti has sung in many films like Pappu Cant Dance Saala, Golmall Returns, Kismat Connection, Namastey London, Apne, Aa Dekhein Zara, Kisaan, Fox, and Rocky etc.

Prior to that ICS supported “ Cricket Coaching Camp with Dilip Vengsarkar by M3 events, Saanjh in the event “Ambassadors of Comedy” with International artist Aron Kader, Dean Obeidullah  & Nitin Mirani towards a noble cause. ICS has had the privilege to bring in to Kuwait & organize events with top most playback singers, actors & actress like Shreya Ghoshal, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Kader Khan, Bhagyashree, Alka Yagnik, Hema Sardesai, Talat Aziz, Shibani Kashyap, Akshay Anand, Prairna Agarwal, Bharti Singh & Kavita Krishnamurti, Kader Khan etc. Simultaneously the ICS team has met with renowned Bollywood stars Madhuri Dixit, Manisha Koirala, Karan Johar, Suneeta Rao, Preity Zinta, Suhail Khan as well as legendry music director Pyarelal ji (Laximikant Pyarelal) & many others for future events.
