Oath Taking and Orientation Programme of YCS Held in St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle

Udupi/M’Belle, 18 June 2023: The oath taking ceremony and orientation programme was held for the Young Catholic Students (YCS) of St. Lawrence Parish, Moodubelle on Sunday, 18 June 2023. The oath taking ceremony was held  during the 7.30 am Mass and  the orientation programme for the YCS members and their parentys was held following the Mass in the Parish Community Hall from 9 am to 10.30 am.

 

The oath of membership and dedication was administered by Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Assistant Parish Priest and Director of the YCS Unit, Moodubelle just before the homily. The YCS members holding the burning candle repeated the oath administered by Fr. Pradeep Cardoza.

 

Following the Mass, the YCS members along with their parents and animators assembled in the Parish Community Hall for the orientation programme conducted by Fr. Steven Fernandes-Director of the Youth Commission, Diocese of Udupi.

 

A brief stage programme was held prior to the orientation programme. Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Fr. Steven Fernandes, Fr. Vijith Mathias (Holy Cross), Sr. Bertina Pereira-Superior of the Loreto Convent, Pritish D’Sa-Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council, Dr. Judith Noronha and Mrs. Nikita Rebello-Animators of YCS and Ms. Janice Castelino-President of the YCS were on the dais.

 

Following the welcome address by Fr. Pradeep Cardoza, Pritish D’Sa in his message stressed on the importance of being a member of the YCS in order to instill a sense of discipline, dedication and perseverance.

 

 

Fr. Steven Fernandes conducted the orientation course for the YCS members and their parents.

 

Ms. Sharon Mendonca introduced Fr. Steven Fernandes. Ms. Reeva D’Souza compered the programme.
