Dubai, 01 April 2010: With a track record of being a brilliant student throughout, Sanjoy Noronha, son of Simon and Juliana Noronha from Moodubelle had the distinction of securing the first rank and Gold Medal in the Mechanical Engineering Section of the American University of Sharjah in mid-2009. It is indeed a personal academic triumph to this promising young man and also a matter of pride to his family.

Sanjoy was born on 24th March 1986 in Mangalore. His father, Simon Noronha from Thirlapalke in Moodubelle was in Abu Dhabi while Sanjoy was born. Sanjoy’s mother, Juliana who was from Bijai, Mangalore took good care of Sanjoy when Simon was struggling to make a living in Abu Dhabi. Sanjoy attended the Kindergarten class in the Nazareth School at Balmatta, Mangalore.

After securing a stable and a better job in Dubai, Simon brought his family from Mangalore. Sanjoy, who had already completed his Kindergarten class in Mangalore, was enrolled in the prestigious St. Mary’s Catholic School in Dubai. Sanjoy has been an intelligent student and was good in studies. He was quite popular among the students and the teachers in the school. Simon said that Sanjoy would teach the weaker students of his class. Usually the teachers would recommend to Sanjoy those students who required additional coaching and he always obliged his teachers and the students.

Sanjoy did manifest his leadership qualities along with his scholarship. While in the 12th Grade in St. Mary’s Catholic School, Dubai, Sanjoy had the distinction of being elected as the Assistant Head Boy, the prestigious position which is being coveted by most of the students.

Sanjoy’s parents have been instrumental in shaping his character and grooming his scholarship and career. His mother, Juliana had been collecting pictures of Sanjoy right from his birth recording important events in his early life till he turned 19 and had prepared a chart which she presented to him on his 19th Birthday.

By the time Sanjoy had completed his 12th Grade, Simon had started his own business, Rainbow Pre Press Company and later in 2003 Pearl Printing Press. Simon was keen that Sanjoy should learn advanced printing technology in England and encouraged Sanjoy to continue 13th Grade pre-College study in St. Mary’s Catholic School so as to enable him to get admission in one of the British Universities. However, by the time Sanjoy completed the study, he had other plans. He did not want to be away from his family and decided to enrol himself in the American University at Sharjah for the Mechanical Engineering Course.

Even while studying for the Mechanical Engineering Course, Sanjoy proved to be a studious and dedicated student. Like in St. Mary’s Catholic School, Sanjoy always helped other students who sought his guidance in their studies. After four years of meticulous and committed study, Sanjoy secured first rank and Gold Medal in the Mechanical Engineering Section of the American University, Sharjah.

Following the phenomenal achievement of Sanjoy in academics, the American University offered him free Master’s Degree Course and also an opportunity as a lecturer in the under graduate classes. He also had offers of job from prestigious companies such as Slumber J Oil Company and the newly started Nuclear Power Plant of Abu Dhabi. However, Sanjoy politely declined these lucrative offers to join his father’s business, especially the Pearl Printing Press of which he is the managing partner.

According to Simon, Sanjoy has been doing very well in the business since the last six months that he has taken charge.

Sanjoy wants to study further and do MBA course. Sanjoy has a long way to go in the business that his father has established. With new ideas and commitment, Sanjoy will definitely take the business in printing technology to new heights.

In spite of his scholarship and achievements, Sanjoy is quite simple, unassuming and friendly. He is a role model to his younger brother, Joel who studies in 10th standard in St. Mary’s Catholic School. Like his elder brother, Joel too is an intelligent young boy who has a bright future.

Bellevision congratulates Sanjoy on being the Gold Medallist of the Mechanical Engineering Section of the American University, Sharjah and wishes him success in his business ventures.
