Mumbai, 18 October 2010: The Fourth Annual General Meeting of the members of Canara Konkani Association Borivli (Regd) held on Sunday 17th October 2010 at 7pm at St. Francis Institute of Management and Research hall Mount Poinsur, S. V. P. Road, Borivli West. The meeting started with the prayer by Mrs. Matilda Lobo. Mrs Veronica Noronha gave introduction to the meeting and the welcome address. Chairman Mr. Albert W DSouza, Vice Chairman Mr. George DSouza, Secretary Mr. Charles D’Cunha and Treasurer Mr. Robert Tauro were present at the dais.
Secretary Mr. Charles D’Cunha read the minutes of the previous meeting. Treasurer Mr. Robert Tauro presented the accounts. Mr Godfrey Quadros introduced the adopted children for the scholarship. The beneficiary four children spoke at the occasion and thanked the association. Vice Chairman Mr. George D’Souza expressed his view of forming the association as a founder president. Chairman Mr. Albert W DSouza explained the benefit of coming together as a community in a organised manner. He also informed that there are 12,000 Konkani speaking people in IC Colony Borivli and so far 812 people have become the members of the association. Their target in the next year to achieve 10% of the memebership i.e 1200 members.
Mr Albert also inaugurated the Konkani Hymns CD "Jezu, Tum Mhozo Ray" by Fr. Edward Olivera during this occasion. Mrs. Veronica Noronha compered the entire programme beautifully and proposed vote of thanks. Sr. Leena said grace before meals. A fellowship meal was served to all.
