Kundapur: College Students boycott classes, stage protest over Ratna’s mystery death

Kundapur, Jul 15, 2014 : The students of colleges across the taluk led by Students Federation of India (SFI) boycotted classes here on Tuesday July 15, urging the law enforcement agencies to probe the suspicious death of Ratna Kottari, a student of Shiroor Pre-University College, near here and also to provide adequate security to girl students. 

 

The students of different colleges across the taluk including St Mary’s Pre-University College, Bhandarkar’s College boycotted the classes in this regard.

 

 

Thousands of students staged protest rally hurling slogans on city streets.  The protesters presented a memorandum to Tahsildar urging the law enforcement agencies to hold the probe.  The Tahsildar assured the protesters of impartial probe.

 

SFI taluk Committee secretary Srikant Hemmady, Afreen, Akshay Kumar, Aldreen, Harsha Vaderahobali, DYFI activists Rajesh Vaderahobali, Suresh Kallagara and Prabhakar Neralakatte led the protest march.
