Udupi, 23 Jun 2014: The worship should bring about change in ones life. It should have empathy for fellowmen. If our prayers segregate us from society such prayers have no meaning. Therefore, the prayers should be focused on the welfare of society, said SIO former state president Asrar Umari.
Asrar was addressing the gathering of faithful which was organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Hind here on Monday June 23.
Jamaat-e-Hind Mangalore president Sayyed Ismail said that there lies awakening call not to dog minutely into Holy Scriptures as the community has disregarded the true interpretation of the same, to live meaningful life on earth, said Ismail.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind district convener M Shabbir Malpe presided the programme.
Imranulla Mansoori read the verses from Holy Quran. Idris Hoode delivered the introductory address. Anwar Ali Kaup compered the programme.
