Udupi, 07 October 2010: The Udupi Zone of the South Kanara Photographers Association along with the Dharani Seva Sansthe, Kaup jointly o rganized a Blood Donation Camp at the Government District Hospital, Ajjarakadu, Udupi on Thursday, 7th October 2010 at 8.30 am.
The Blood Donation Camp was presided over by Dr. Daynanda Nayak, Surgeon of the Government District Hospital and Dr. Sharad Kumar, Chief of the Blood Bank at the same hospital. Shridhar Shetty, President of the South Kanara Photographers Association, Udupi Zone welcomed the the guests and the volunteers who had gathered for the Blood Donation camp. The camp was inaugurated by B. Krishna, Proprietor of the Basant Studio, Malpe. Nityananda Walakkadu, member of the Udupi Municipality was the chief guest. Other guests included-Raghava Padmashali, Honorary president of the South Kanara Photographers Association-Udupi Zone, Shiva K. Amin, Proprietor of Adarsh Studio, Kemmannu, Navin Chandra Ballal, Proprietor of Navin Studio, Udupi and the office bearers of the South Kanara Photographers Association, Udupi Zone.
Speaking at the inauguration function of the Blood Donation Camp, Dr. Sharad Kumar said that blood donation is a noble service by which a number of unfortunate victims of accident or any other needy persons can be helped. Dr. Dayananda Nayak speaking at this occasion complimented the South Kanara Photographers Association-Udupi Zone and the Dharani Seva Sansthe for organizing the Blood Donation Camp. Karandadi Leeladhar Shetty, President of Dharani Seva Sansthe, Kaup proposed the vote of thanks.
The Blood Donation Camp continued till 3 pm and around one hundred volunteers have donated their blood to the noble cause.
