Dubai, 6 Apr 2014: Vamanjoreans U.A.E., a vibrant association of Vamanjoor parishioners residing in U.A.E. are all set to stage the mega ever green drama of great play write Late MicMax titled: “Chintnen, SobdanAniKarnen”. There will also be second drama staged on the same day of which name will be announced shortly will be presented by Dubai based artists. The twin dramas will be staged at the Sh. Rashid Auditorium on Friday 30th May 2014 and the show will start sharp at 6:30pm.
Vamanjoor Parish of Mangalore Diocese has been blessed with very famous dramatis/actors as a hosts of talented artists, poets and drama writers and journalists born and lived in this parish. To name a few;Late Cha PraD’Costa, a great poet and play write who resided in Vamanjoor. Also there are a few famous personalities such aswell-known Konkani journalist and author Dolphy Cassia, singer Dr. PrashnathRaj, film music director Alwyn Fernandes, great social worker Eric Correa (SowardhaNager) and a well-known NRI and successful businessman and great community leader James Mendonca belong to this parish. The famous diocesan St. Joseph’s Engineering College and tourist attraction natural park Nisarga – Pilikula are based in Vamanjoor.
The main goal of Vamanjoor association is to help under privileged of their parish. Special attraction of the drama is to introduce Vamanjoorean talented actors to UA.E. audience and all actors will be flown from Vamanjoor. All the proceedings of the drama will go back to their parish to support for medical, educational causes and for under privileged to stand on their feet and live a standard dignified life.
The award winning Konkani social drama will be performed by well-known actors from Vamanjoor namelyJerald Monteiro Mangalore, one of the top actor, privileged to act with late Cha Pra, awarded best actor at the Diocese level drama competition and acted in many konkani dramas and won accolades.To name a few: Shiri Gundi Simanve, KD Bona BA, Dakter Dusman, Anvakr Mesthri, Rathichi Voram Aat.
Another talented artist Ms. Sapna Crasta who will play lead role in this drama. She has given mesmerizing performance in her last appearance in the play ’ Bhnagar Munis ’ staged in Dubai and staged by Mangalore Konkans Dubai in 2012. Other talented actress is AssunthaPais who had also acted in BhnagarMunis ’. Roshan M .Kamath, Mario Roche and Denzil Fernandes will be supporting actors of this drama.

About MicMax:
Born to Florine and Paul on 13th April 1950 and christened Michael Maxim D’Souza ,MicMax was one of eight siblings. His early years were spent in between Bajpe, his place of birth and his house in Bijai opposite the Bijai Central Bus stand. His early schooling years were remarkably low key and it is only during his adolescence and his association with the Bijai Choir and the legendary Father and Son duo of Cyprian and Benett Pinto that his latent talent was noticed.
The Annual music competitions conducted by the Konkani Natak Sabha was a platform on which Mic Max as he was popularly called by then, showed his enormous talents. His association with LateBennet Pinto will be best remembered for the music and lyrics they churned out year after year at these competitions.
Buoyed by his tremendous fan following and success, MicMax ventured into stage and made a permanentmark as a great actor in the super hit drama ‘ThamdoTharok.’
MicMaxwas a well-educated Konkani writer who had firsthand experience in journalism when he was employed at“Nava Bharatha” daily, which was published from Kodialbail, Mangalore.
In his youth, MicMax was quite active in Catholic Youth Movement - Bijai, choir, and singing groups. Under the guidance of CippaMaster and with the friendship of his son Bennett Pinto, he composed several Konkani songs, sung during Konkani Natak Sabha competitions and won several prizes for their parish. He came up with his own jokes when he compeered 25 Wilfy Nites in Mangalore. He also took part in Wilfy’s Konkani movie – "MogAnimMaipaas."
MicMax wrote several stories and two of them received Konkani BhashaParishad awards from Goa and one of his stage play won Konkani Drama Akademy award, which recognized his talent in writing Konkani worldwide.
Mickey as his friends knew him was also a great orator and was the first competitor to bag a hat trick by bagging the First Prize at the Elocution Competition conducted by The Konkani Naatak Sabha in Mangalore.
Backed by a rag tag army of young men and women whose desire was to promote talent and give service to society, Mickey’s songs were Super Hits. ThujeaSobith the Don Dole, Taxi Taxi, Shirley, MujiGoriGoriGoriGaai, Mariola....brought his artistic and musical talents to the fore.
Apart from being a good musician, he was also a prolific writer. He has to his credit 3 Novels, 2 Short Story Books, 1 Drama Book, 6 Stage Plays, Poetry and hundreds of articles in leading Konkani Periodicals.
His two novels won the "The Best Novel of the Year Awards" in 1984 and 1986 from the Goa Konkani SaahithyaParishad.
He was the recipient of year 2002 Karnataka Sahitya Academy Drama Book Award.
His stage play "PatimPolloinaka" won the best second play award in the year 2002 during the All India Drama Competition held in Bangalore.
Among his several literary achievements are three novels, two Konkani short plays, several popular stage plays which have been put on boards several times and at several places. He was a fighter against injustice and evils in the society and his writings were an indication of his thoughts. He was known as a BandayaSahithi - one who fought against the establishment. He was a good writer, actor, director, singer, composer, organizer and a compere beyond compare. Above all he was simple to the core and a true friend. Mic Max was married to Joyce D’Souza he is having 2 kids Karishma and Karen.
However, God has His own plans as he wanted to give him full rest to MickMax,he took him in his abode April 24, 2006. MicMax was a one of the konkani legend will be remembered for ever by Mangalorean Konkani Community.
